About Cathleen

Cathleen is proud of her New Orleans heritage, where she was born and raised. A fun place to live, a hard town to bring discipline into your life, but she finally did.

Cathleen married William Rhodes in 1986, and moved out of the Big Easy to Baltimore, then to New Hampshire, and now Cathleen, William, and daughter, Christen reside in Nelson County on the James River, in Howardsville, south of Charlottesville, Virginia. Cathleen has two daughters, Faith and Monica, and a son, Emmanuel from a previous marriage.

Cathleen loves music and dancing (a former dance instructor herself), and has hosted many musicians and dancers on It's A Rap!

While in New Orleans, Cathleen worked as an actor in a commercial, and co-hosted a local television show there. Cathleen has worked with Maurice Jones, Director of Communications for the City of Charlottesville, as a reporter on two shows, "Inside Charlottesville" and "Talk of C'Ville." Rhodes has also hosted "Primavarao" a local fashion show for television, as well as "Front Row Center Stage," a television show that introduced Live Arts, its plays, actors, and directors to the local television audience.

It's A Rap is a dream fulfilled for Cathleen as she had met so many talented and interesting people since moving to Charlottesville that she decided she wanted to showcase them all, thus It's A Rap was born. Though Cathleen had the idea for close to a year, it was not until she hired a personal coach, Claire Heilbrun, that she was able to manifest her dream show. It's A Rap! debuted live in January of 2002 on Charlottesville Public Access Television, and aired on Channel 13 on Saturdays.

The show took on a life of its own and improved with every episode. Because of the success of It's A Rap, WADA TV PAX 55 has picked up the show. The first regional broadcast was on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 9 a.m. It's A Rap! can still be seen on Charlottesville Public Access Television on Saturdays at noon and Thursdays at 1 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
